This brand of global card payments network provides services to financial institutions around the world. These institutions use MasterCard brands such as MasterCard, MasterCard® PayPass™, Maestro® and Cirrus® to provide their own financial credit services.

MasterCard does not issue any cards. The financial institutions using MasterCard services issue the credit cards and decide on their own solutions available to their clients.

Visa
The Visa brand offers global financial services and runs the largest network of electronic payments in the world. Visa links over 13,300 financial institutions and circulates over 520 million cards in the world.

The company operates the world's largest retail electronic payments network and is one of the most recognized brands of global financial services, offering credit, debit and pre-paid products to clients.

Visa is accepted at over 6.9 million pay points world-wide.

American Express (or AMEX) is a credit card issuing financial institution and provides personal credit cards, financial services, travel services and Forex services around the globe. The company is different from MasterCard and Visa as American Express issues its own cards and does not use financial institutions to manage its relationships with merchants.
